The Ying and Yang in Art…
with KIAM (KIel and AManda Wilson-Ciocci)
Husband and wife team, Kiel and Amanda Wilson-Ciocci set out to be re-inspired in the new setting of Collingwood, Ontario in 2019.
Collingwood is an area within Southern Ontario that can definitely inspire. There are blue mountains, sweeping landscape vistas, a stunning shoreline (Georgian Bay) which shows off one of the most beautiful shorelines in all of Canada and pulses with life of a small Ontario town on the verge of a real estate explosion.
Enter KIAM Studios…….
Kiel and Amanda both graduated from the Fine Art Program at the University of Guelph in 2010 and became known around their hometown of Guelph as a young couple on the move in every way. They managed to capture the heart of the Guelph arts community through their collage and mixed media pieces in a relatively short time.
They are now about to enter onto the stage of the Collingwood & area art scene. This young couple describe their artwork as collage mixed media. What is unique about their work however is that they co-collaborate on a single piece. Each of them lends their own perspective to a work. Incorporating photographs, (often historical) and using acrylic paint and gel medium each piece is intricately layered to build up a stunning work of art. Just like life, the layer build up is designed to give the viewer the drawing in and stepping back from the image.
Who has the final say on a piece.
